If you're afraid of how much art can cost, don't let it push you away from the luxury of family portraits.

Below are many questions that I have received over the years.

If you have more questions left unanswered, feel free to contact me.

When should I book?

If you are expecting, it's best to contact a photographer after your 20 week ultrasound. This gives time to set up locations/outfits/etc. The best time to photograph the bump, without feeling like a whale, is around the 30 week mark. Then newborns can be as soon as 48 hours, one week, or under 4 weeks old.

Graduates should start looking into their photographer around early springtime of their Junior year. If you would like a wildflower or spring based session, start looking at the beginning of the year. This gives time to scout locations, get to know their photographer, and tell their story how they want it told.

Then, photos are typically done before school starts, ideally before October. Some schools have different deadlines, and I've had smaller schools allow photos to go all the way up to March and April of graduation year. Please check with your school to know your deadlines.

Family photos are typically done at the end of the year and can be planned a year in advance. Most people love fall foliage, and others want snowy Christmas vibes. Depending on how you want your family portraits to look, anticipate it a year in advance and make it an annual tradition.

Where is a good location?

Location scouting is one of my favorite things to do aside from the portrait study itself.

When talking with clients, we find a way to tell your story.

Is this your first or last baby and you have a special location that means something to your family? Let's go there and I will find a stunning area that will honor your wishes while also creating a unique portrait to you and your family.

Graduates have a wide variety of locations to explain their story. Some people want beautiful wildflowers, while others want a sporting arena. Some want the bowling alley and arcade, while another wants a stage with bright lights. I've had students on bridges in the snow, surrounded by sheet music and books, and of course, on campus showing off their cap and gown. The possibilities are endless, and these tend to be my favorite brainstorming sessions.

Every person is different, and their passions are equally interesting. I want to help all people encapsulate what makes them happy and show off what they've grown to love over the years.

How can I afford photos?

Every customer I have had the joy of speaking with, always has one major thought on their mind, "How much is this going to cost?"

I always tell my clients, every session is unique and one flat rate doesn't work for everyone. My time and ability change over the years, and I want each client to be able to walk away with tangible products in their hands versus a digital gallery that just sits in a clouds data storage center.  Everyone deserves to see their pictures every day, not just when they tap on a screen to upload for likes and shares.

If you're concerned that photos are too expensive for you, or if I'm out of your budget range, let's talk about payment plans.

I know everyone has a subscription to everything these days, and my product will last longer than some Netflix series that no one will remember in 5 years. If you can only swing a couple hundred bucks and that takes you 6 months to pay off, let me help you.

Your money helps our local economy, pays for my kids to have extracurricular activities, pays our bills, pays for gas in our vehicles.  On top of paying for my business to keep running, to keep my editing software up to date, to pay off that lens I'm loving, and so much more. I hope that means as much to you as it means to me.
